1. About Beacon
Beacon is a Discord bot and web service for server management, moderation, welcome messages, sticky notes, tickets, community tools, statistics, badges and related features. These Terms govern the Beacon website, dashboard, bot and connected services. By accessing or using Beacon, you agree to these Terms.
2. Eligibility and parental responsibility
You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement and any higher minimum age required by the laws where you live. Minors may access or use Beacon only with the supervision and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required. Parents and legal guardians are responsible for supervising a minor's use and for activity carried out through the minor's account.
If you install or configure Beacon for a Discord server, you confirm that you have authority to do so and to grant the permissions selected during setup.
3. Discord and third-party services
Beacon operates through Discord and depends on Discord's platform, permissions, APIs and policies. You must comply with Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines and Developer Policy. Discord is independent from Beacon and is not a party to these Terms. Beacon is not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord.
Beacon may link to or use third-party services. We do not control those services, their content, availability or terms. Your use of them is governed by the relevant third party's terms and policies.
4. Beacon content and intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, Beacon's software, branding, layouts, badge designs, text and other original materials belong to Beacon or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may use Beacon content only as necessary to use the Service lawfully. You may not copy, download, modify, translate, publish, sell, sublicense, redistribute or create derivative works from Beacon content without permission, except where applicable law or an explicit Beacon feature allows it.
5. User and server content
You and your server remain responsible for messages, files, links, tickets, logs, rules, moderation decisions and other content submitted to or generated through Beacon. You must have the rights and permissions needed for content you provide and must configure access appropriately.
You grant Beacon the limited permissions needed to host, process, display and transmit that content solely to operate, secure and improve the features you use. You retain your rights in your content. Beacon does not approve or endorse user content.
6. Acceptable use
You may use Beacon only for its intended purposes, these Terms and applicable law. You must not:
- use Beacon for unlawful activity, fraud, harassment, threats, hate, discrimination, pornography, violence or encouragement of self-harm;
- impersonate another person, conceal the origin of messages, misappropriate an account or misuse another user's personal information;
- send spam, phishing, malware, unauthorized advertising, raids or other disruptive content or activity;
- probe, scan, test or bypass Beacon's security, authentication, rate limits or access controls;
- interfere with Beacon, Discord, connected networks or another user's experience or device;
- scrape, harvest or extract data from Beacon through an automated process unless Beacon expressly permits it;
- send abusive or excessively frequent API requests or otherwise consume resources in a way that creates an unreasonable burden; or
- use Beacon to infringe intellectual-property, privacy or other rights of third parties.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Beacon does not violate the law, Discord's rules or the rights of others.
7. Moderation and automated actions
Automod, timeout, deletion, logging, ticket and similar features operate according to the settings selected by server staff and the permissions Discord makes available. Automated tools can make mistakes and may be affected by rate limits, missing permissions, outages or changes to Discord. Server staff must review configurations and actions regularly and remain responsible for moderation decisions.
8. Premium features and payments
If Beacon offers a paid feature, the applicable price, scope, duration and conditions will be shown before purchase. Prices and availability may change for future purchases. Payments may be processed by third-party providers; Beacon does not receive or store complete payment-card details unless expressly stated.
Subscriptions, if offered, renew and may be cancelled according to the terms shown during purchase. Mandatory consumer rights, including applicable withdrawal and cancellation rights, remain unaffected. European Consumers may have additional rights under applicable law.
9. External resources
Beacon may provide access to external websites, content, integrations or resources. We are not responsible for their content, security, availability or operation. Any interaction with a third party is between you and that third party.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Beacon by removing the bot and ending use of the website and dashboard. We may limit, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, Discord or provider requirements, or protection of Beacon and its users. We may also limit excessive resource use or API access. Provisions that should reasonably continue after termination remain in effect.
11. Availability and changes
Beacon may be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, incidents, provider outages, rate limits or circumstances outside our reasonable control. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, permanent storage, successful delivery of every message or compatibility with every Discord configuration.
We may add, remove or change features, limits and interfaces. We may update these Terms by publishing a revised version on this page. The updated date identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms where legally permitted.
12. Privacy
Information about how Beacon processes personal data is provided in the Privacy Policy. You should also review Discord's privacy terms and any notices applicable to your server or third-party integrations.
13. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Beacon is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, Discord or third-party outages, user content, or actions resulting from your server configuration.
Any limitation in these Terms applies only to the extent permitted by the law applicable to you. Mandatory consumer and statutory rights remain unaffected.
14. Contact and legal provisions
Questions, complaints or notices about Beacon or these Terms can be sent to help@beacon-bot.site. We will review complaints and try to resolve them amicably without limiting your right to use any legal remedy available to you.
If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective and the invalid provision will be applied or replaced to the extent permitted by law. These Terms are governed by the law applicable at Beacon's place of establishment, subject to any mandatory consumer protections and jurisdictional rights that apply to you.
